About this course
Using digital lectures, quizzes, and diverse forms of resources (pictures, sound, videos, writings, etc.) students will learn more about art movements, literature, and specific events that form the basis of a common European culture. Each class will focus on a specific aspect of European culture such as an artistic movement or a historical event with numerous cultural repercussions. For example: “68: Revolts in Europe”, “European Romanticisms”, “Avant-gardes across the borders”, “Literary Roots of Contemporary Europe”, “The Dreyfus Affair in Europe”, “The Origins of European Languages”, “European Cinema Depicting and Embodying Resistance to Oppression”, “Art Nouveau in Europe”.
This course will be taught in English but other European languages will be used in the various documents studied for each class.
