About this course

The topic covers the basics of all types of gearboxes used in motor vehicles: mechanical gearboxes, automatics planetary gearset transmissions, CVT/IVT, hydrodynamic and hydrostatic transmissions

Examination

Assessment type: The course concludes with an assessment and an exam.

Grading method: To receive assessment, students must submit four homeworks. If a student misses two of the lab sessions listed in the schedule—during which students work in teams to perform calculations—they will be assigned one additional homework assignment for each missed session.

Examination method: The exam is written and covers material from most of the topics discussed. The exam primarily assesses understanding of the material.
