About this course
This course is presented in Czech. However, there is an English variant in the program Informatics (N1801 / 4793).
The course introduces students of technical university to the international business. It does that predominantly by comparing individual countries and key regions of world economy. Students get to know about different religions and cultures, necessary for doing business in diverse societies as well as indexes of economic freedom, corruption and economic development, which are needed for the right investment decision. Seminars help to improve on the knowledge in the form of discussions based on individual readings. It is advised to take bachelor level of this course BIE-SEP as a prerequisite.

Examination
Student needs to create and present working paper of specific structure to pass (35+5 percent) . There are two written exams (20 and 30 percent) of a mix of multiple choice and open-ended questions. Active participation during seminars is also required (10 percent).
Course requirements
The course assumes passive knowledge of English for reading selected technical texts. Successful completion requires earning course credit and passing the examination. Course credit is awarded for submitting semester assignments with the required structure and content, along with their presentations (35+5 percent), and is a prerequisite for the examination. The examination consists of a written test, comprising Test I (20 percent) and Test II (30 percent), plus active participation in exercises (10 percent).
