About this course

DTU’s Master of Wind Energy is an accredited industry targeted education from the world’s leading academic department for wind energy. The flexible study plan allows you to choose a workload that fits into your schedule and complete the full programme over the course of two to six years. Master’s programme offers great flexibility and allows you to fit courses in to a busy schedule. You can study online anytime and anywhere with videos, assignments, discussion forums etc. You will receive individual supervision and feedback from course lecturers and become part of the Master of Wind Energy community. To become a Master of Wind Energy, you need to complete nine Master courses (5 ECTS each) followed by a final project (15 ECTS). You can complete the programme in two years or extend your studies up to six years. Courses run over 13 weeks beginning in early September or February. We offer six courses in the Autumn semester and six courses in the Spring semester. It is possible to start a Final Project in either a Spring or Autumn semester, depending on what suits your individual study plan. By completing the full Master Program you will receive a professional Master's degree (60 ECTS). Each course is passed with a written exam online or an oral examination and reports. The oral exam is a video presentation to be prepared by the student. When you have passed all nine courses in the Master’s programme, you can sign up for the final project and get in touch with a supervisor. You can choose to write your final project either during the spring semester or the autumn semester. You are required to defend you final project in an oral exam that takes place physically in Denmark.

Course requirements

Admission to the programme requires a BSc. or BEng. degree or higher and at least two years of relevant working experience. The relevant working experience could be – but is not necessarily restricted to – employment in: Wind energy industry/ Oil and gas companies/Shipping companies/Companies performing environmental assessment/Public agencies with responsibilities related to engineering and natural sciences. Recommended prerequisites: In addition to the admission requirements above, we strongly recommend that you have mathematics and programming skills equivalent to BSc. or BEng. level or higher.
