About this course
Course content and objectives. Product, service and process planning. Product strategy: product development, product quality. Process strategy; relations between operations strategy and overall strategy; operations system; production methods; types of process; spetcialization; process cycle; capacity; break-even analysis; project valuation; just-in time production and purchasing. Aggregate planning. Facility location. Layout of facilities. The production plan. Material requirements planning. Scheduling and controlling projects. Quality management Maintenance.

Learning outcomes
After completing this course, the student:
- explains the nature of the production and service management processes as well as their strategic importance;
- differentiates between the main stages of the main production and service management processes in the planning stages;
- describes basic principles of planning and control of operations; the planning of production and service management;
- utilises the methods for continuous process improvement;
- selects appropriate practical tools and methods and applies them in the processes management.
Examination
Final assessment can consist of one test/assignment or several smaller assignments completed during the whole course. After declaring a course the student can re-sit the exam/assessment once.
