About this course

The course introduces modern principles and practices of human resource management (HRM) in the organization, explains the key role of human resource management in achieving strategic objectives of the organization and introduces fundamental human resource functions that determine the competitiveness of the organization in the market economy.

Learning outcomes

After the completion of the course, the students should be able to:

  • understand current HRM theories and concepts,
  • identify significant problems faced by managers in HRM,
  •   recognize situational demands for specific HRM practices.
    

Course requirements

The grade is obtained by passing two online tests in the CTU Moodle application

  • The midterm test (50%) is taken in Week 8 covers the knowledge of the first half of lectures (1-7). It includes 25 ABCD questions (one correct); correct: 2 points; incorrect: 0 points; maximum: 50 points. The limit is 40 minutes.

  • The final test (50%) is taken in Week 14 (or in the examination period) and covers the knowledge of the second half of lectures (8-13). It includes 25 ABCD questions (one correct); correct: 2 points; incorrect: 0 points; maximum: 50 points. The limit is 40 minutes.

It is possible to obtain 0-100 points from both tests. The final grade is determined according to the following grading scale:

Excellent (A): 90-100 Very good (B): 80–89 Good (C): 70-79 Satisfactory (D): 60–69 Sufficient (E): 50-59 Insufficient (F): 0–49
