WAsP Self Study

A 10 week self-study course will teach you how to use the WAsP Engineering software for assessment of wind conditions affecting structural safety of wind turbines. There are specific tasks and assignments, which need to be completed in order to receive the certificate of participation at the end of the course, but you can go over the material as many times as you wish. You are asked to complete a case study and hand it in. It will be evaluated by a member of the WAsP Team at DTU Wind Energy and brief written feedback will be given.

The course will make you proficient in WAsP Engineering and related tools, familiar with the theory behind WAsP Engineering and aware of model limitations in WAsP Engineering. The course enables the participant to prepare input for WAsP Engineering, set up a WAsP Engineering project correctly, predict extreme-wind speed, turbulence, and wind conditions at individual turbine sites and perform a site assessment according to the IEC 61400-1 standard.
